MUSEUM OF IGNÁC STUCHLÝ

 THE ORIGINS OF THIS MUSEUM

The first idea to install the Museum of Ignác Stuchlý was brought by iniciative of Václav Klement SDB during holiday in 2008. Despite the fact that the first Salesians came to our country 80 years ago, we don´t know a lot about Ignác Stuchlý – the first Czech Salesian. Let this museum be a great memory of his life and repayment of the debt we have. The museum was built with the help of financial funding from the city of Fryšták.

THE EXPOSITION

The exposition is divided into 3 parts:

1. personal belongings

2.historical and  autobiographical part

3.spiritual profile

The dynamics of the exposition is meant to come gradually, through individual life stages, from the ‘dead cleric’ to ‘live spiritual profile’ of Ignác Stuchlý. What every visitor should take from the exhibition is the desire to follow the co called ‘Staříček’ (Godfather) in some of his holy characteristics. For those interested in deeper study, there is a PC available in the corner of the room where more written documents, photos and other records about this remarkable character of Salesian work are collected. The visitors also have a possibility to buy some souvenirs reminding Staříček. The daily opening hours of Fr.I.Stuchlý are not fixed yet. Therefore we encourage the visitors to either call the catholic parish of Fryšták – phone 577911005 or the reception of DIS – phone 577911065, 577912536 and arrange a visit personally with a Salesian.
